Mekong Delta Homestay

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho

Be ready to be picked up from your hotel in the morning and leave for Cai Be. This trip supplies a wide variety of the delta's life and scenery. On the way, you can see green rice paddy fields stretching towards the horizon. After arrival in Cai Be, we took a sampan cruise to visit a rice paper-making workshop, pop rice cake and visit Mr. Vo's ancient house. Known as one of the most ancient houses in the Southern of Vietnam, the house was built over 100 years ago. Then we will have a motorized boat trip on canals, stop at a local home and enjoy the local tropical fruits and listen to folk music.

After that we will change to a small rowing boat and move in a small channel. Have lunch on an island before we return to the pier. From here, we drive to Can Tho town. On arrival, we check in at the hotel and have dinner.

Day 2: Can Tho to Ben Tre

After an early breakfast, you will leave to visit Cai Rang Floating Market - the biggest and busiest wholesale floating market in Vietnam where not only local people but people from all over the Mekong Delta come to exchange their farming products. Then we will visit a rice husking mill and rice noodle making shop to more thoroughly understand the Mekong Delta life. Come to the local home Mr. 10 Cuong to visit a cocoa garden. Here, we have time to enjoy a cup of cocoa milk while the host introduces the way to grow cocoa trees and produce chocolate by hand.

Then we leave Can Tho and drive to Ben Tre. Have lunch on arrival. Then we will move to visit a coconut processing workshop. You will see each period to make production from coconut fruit and make biological fertilizer. Check in homestay. You will attend a cooking class, learn how to make simple local dishes and have dinner with some dishes it makes by hand.

Day 3: Ben Tre to Ho Chi Minh City

After breakfast at your homestay, we get bicycles and start biking to a morning local market. It's the best place to buy fresh vegetables and fruits after biking around vegetable farms and shady paths. Discover the real life in the village, visit a coconut candy workshop and local Cao Dai temple (8 km). Get along the riverside to go back to the town. (3km) and have a look at many kinds of fruit for sale displayed on the sidewalk in town. Stop at farmer house to see mat weaving. Riding to Mr. Sau Khanh ??s house to see an ancient ceramic set. Many antiques are from dynasties and French period.

Turn back home stay for relax. Cruise to Ben Tre Pier. Stop to visit a brickyard to see how local people make brick by hand. Get on land and visit Ben Tre Museum to show Ben Tre people's revolutionary struggle and vestiges of the American War. We will have time to see Ben Tre market before driving to Ho Chi Minh City.
