Welcome to Toronto and the start of your road trip adventure in Eastern Canada!
On arrival into Toronto airport, make your own way to your accommodation. Spend three nights in a centrally located hostel (options to upgrade).
Over the next four days you can enjoy the best the city has to offer with an included hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus ticket. Skip the queues with your included ticket for the CN Tower - one of Toronto's most iconic sights. For something a little different, taste your way around the city with a beer tour. Toronto boasts a thriving and diverse craft beer scene, with nearly 60 breweries within the city.
No trip to eastern Canada would be complete without a visit to Niagara Falls to admire the power of nature and get utterly soaked in the process! Enjoy a full-day escorted tour and spend the rest of your time in the city exploring independently.
On day 4, head to the car rental office to collect your vehicle and get ready for the open road.
The 540km drive from Toronto to Montreal offers plenty of options for interesting stops.
You could have a wander around the picturesque 19th century town of Port Hope or enjoy lunch at one of the wineries in Prince Edward County. There are also a number of charming towns to visit and stunning coastline to admire. Depending on how much time you have left, consider stopping off at Thousand Islands National Park to soak up the views of granite islands and rugged shorelines.
As this is a customisable itinerary, you can always choose to spend a night or two in one of these spots and extend your road trip beyond 10 days.

Spend two nights in Montreal with an included bike tour to get to know the city. The rest of your time here is free to explore independently.
This French inspired city has loads to entertain you. Explore historical sites like Old Montreal and Notre-Dame Basilica, enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Jean-Talon Market, or relax in Mount Royal Park. For art and culture, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and various galleries in the Plateau and Mile End neighborhoods are great options. Nature lovers can visit the Biodome, Botanical Garden, or stroll along the Lachine Canal.
It's a 260km drive to Quebec City and we recommend following Highway 138 for a more scenic journey.
Along the way, make a stop at Trois Rivieres - Canada's second-oldest city. Here you can explore historical sites like the Old Prison and Forges du Saint-Maurice, delve into the city's past at various museums like Boréalis and Musée POP, and enjoy the outdoors at Île Saint-Quentin Park or the Saint-Maurice Wildlife Reserve.
Spend two nights in the charming city of Quebec. Wander through the cobblestone streets of this UNESCO World Heritage site, a charming district with unique architecture, shops, and restaurants. Visit impressive monuments like the Citadelle and Palace Royale. You can also take the funicular to experience the historic stairs connecting Upper and Lower Town.
For something a little different, we've included a full-day whale-watching excursion (season dependent). Saguenay-St. Lawrence Marine Park is a world-renowned whale-watching spot and just a few hours away by bus. The best time for whale watching in this area is from July to October.
Your next stop is Ottawa - the Canadian capital.
Driving from Quebec to Ottawa you have the chance to stop at Mont Tremblanc National Park, which - in the warmer months - offers forested hiking trails and lakes for canoeing. It's a great opportunity to stretch your legs and enjoy the fresh mountain air before reaching in Ottawa.
Enjoy two nights in Ottawa and time to explore the city independently. Here you can visit the impressive Parliament Hill, get your history and culture fill at one of the many national museums and take a ride on the UNESCO-listed Rideau Canal.
Your road trip is coming to an end and it's time to make your way back to Toronto.
The drive from Ottawa is around 580km and there's the option to stop at the town of Huntsville, a gateway to two major provincial parks: Arrowhead Provincial Park and Algonquin Provincial Park. Hike, canoe or swim before continuing to Toronto airport to drop off your vehicle and catch your return flight home.
