Bangkok to Chiang Mai Khao Yai National Park Explorer

Day 1: Bangkok to Pak Chong

Make sure to be in the hotel lobby at the designated pick-up time for your private transfer to the railway station. Board the scenic day train to Pak Chong, the gateway to the famous Khao Yai National Park. The journey takes approximately 3.5 hours.

On arrival at the station, hop on a private car or van for a short transfer to your hotel. Check in and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Get ready for a fun afternoon adventure! At 3:00 PM, meet your driver and guide at the hotel and begin the tour.

Relax and soak in the natural hot springs, explore a lively local market, and visit a famous Buddhist cave temple in Pak Chong. End the day with an unforgettable bat-watching experience as thousands of bats fill the evening sky.

After the tour, return to your hotel to relax and prepare for the next day.

Day 2: Pak Chong

Earlier in the day, you’ll hike through lush evergreen forest inside Khao Yai National Park, learning about the park’s rich biodiversity while keeping an eye out for wildlife along the trails. You’ll visit scenic waterfalls where you can relax.

Enjoy lunch surrounded by nature’s soundtrack. Later, overlooking the forested landscape.

In the late afternoon, using transport, you’ll venture deeper into the park for a wildlife-spotting safari drive, searching for deer, gibbons, hornbills, and perhaps even wild elephants before returning for the evening.

Day 3: Pak Chong

Your guide will lead you through varying terrains, sharing insights about the park’s ecosystem while increasing your chances of spotting animals in their natural habitat. The day continues at a relaxed yet adventurous pace, allowing time to fully appreciate the untouched beauty of the forest. After a full day immersed in nature, you’ll return to your hotel or hostel in Pak Chong around 7:00 PM, concluding a memorable two-day journey filled with adventure, scenic landscapes, and remarkable wildlife experiences.

Day 4: Pak Chong to Chiang Mai

After breakfast, check out and make your way to the nearby train station where your journey first began. Board the train back to Bangkok and settle in, giving your muscles a well-deserved rest after the past days of trekking through the jungle.

On arrival in Bangkok, you’ll transfer to the overnight sleeper train bound for Thailand’s northern capital, Chiang Mai. Stretch out in your berth, listen to the gentle rhythm of the tracks, and drift off as the train carries you toward your next adventure.
