Itinerary

3 Day Pilanesberg Experience - Tent

Day 1: Pick-up & the Big 5

You are collected from your hostel (or Johannesburg Airport) and travel towards Pilanesberg National Park. Pick up is around 05:30 to 06:30, so be sure to set your alarms for an early start to the day. We recommend staying over a night in Jo'burg prior to the start day in case of any delays at the airport.

After around three and a half hours drive, enter the park for a morning game drive in your closed, air-conditioned tour vehicle.

After lunch, its time for an afternoon open 4x4 vehicle safari drive. Enjoy the safari drive in search of the animals that inhabit the National Park. The knowledgeable guides will give you in depth information on the animal you are viewing and assist you in trying to spot the members of the Big 5.

Dinner is prepared by your guide.

Day 2: Open Vehicle Game Drive

Morning & Afternoon Open Vehicle Game Drives
Start the morning with an early morning open vehicle safari drive. After an exciting morning return to your accommodation for breakfast.

Around midday its time for relaxation and Lunch (at own cost). After unwinding in your surroundings its time for your final afternoon open vehicle safari drive.

Upon returning to your accommodation, dinner is served. Dinner is prepared by your guide.

Day 3: Departure day: Open Vehicle Drive

Wake up early for hot beverages and then depart for a 3-hour sunrise game drive in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve. Return for a hearty breakfast; pack up and be ready to leave mid-morning for a game drive in a closed tour vehicle. Depart mid-afternoon for the return journey to Johannesburg.

Exclusive Safari Tents

The tent has 2 single beds, bedding, central communal ablution facilities or private bathroom, no kitchen or cooking facilities other than a braai, kettle and fridge. Tents are electrified. Sites have communal ablution facilities. Your tour provider will supply you with tent, sleeping bags & pillows.

Local transport

Pick-up and drop-off from any address in Johannesburg (accommodation or the airport) in an air-conditioned vehicle included. Collection time in the morning of Day 1 is from 05:30 to 06:00.
