Malbork Castle, located approx. 1-hour drive from Gdansk, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the only one of its kind. It was originally built by the Teutonic Knights, construction started in 1278 and it became the biggest brick construction in Europe. It was built over a 40 years period and during its construction 12 thousand rocks and 3.5 million handmade bricks were used. Heavily damaged after the 2nd World War, the castle was renovated and is today a museum filled with exhibitions from the old Poland. You will see all three parts of the castle with an English-speaking guide and afterwards you will have some time by yourself to see or revisit the rest of the castle. Duration is approx. 3 hours.
