The Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec was established in the 11th century on the picturesque limestone hill by The Vistula river. It has been destroyed and rebuilt several times. The abbey has a beautiful courtyard and church interior, the museum has a permanent archaelogical exhibition and a Roman lapidarium. Pilgrims also visit the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul which are constructed in Ghotic and Baroque style.
