This excursion commences with a panoramic drive which will come to an end at Birgu (Vittoriosa) where the knights set up their headquarters on their arrival in Malta in 1530. The visit includes the imposing St. Laurence church and the Inquisitor’s Palace. We then proceed to the Vittoriosa Waterfront where we will be visiting Fort St Angelo, best known for its role as the Order's headquarters during the Great Siege of Malta in 1565. From this vantage point, one can admire the panoramic and remarkable views of the defensive lines of the «Three Cities» and the Grand Harbour. In the afternoon, you will be able to gaze at the impressive defensive architecture of the Knights of St. John and admire the creeks of the Port of Marsamxett and of the Grand Harbour that represent, without any doubt, one of Europe’s most beautiful natural harbours.
