The Grotte Hospital or the ”Rock Hospital” is a military hospital and nuclear bunker from the Second World War and the Cold War. The Grotte Hospital lies beneath the Buda Castle, and in the well-preserved and original surroundings it still offers a very authentic experience of the atmosphere during the last tragic days of the Second World War, and not least, the coldness and naivety at the start of the Cold War. Not many museums can give this feeling from the horrible weeks, months, and years. Group tours must be booked in advance.
