Stirling, The Trossachs & Loch Katrine

You drive from Edinburgh to Stirling, once the capital of the Stuart kings. The city is closely related to Stirling Castle that became a pawn in the struggles between the English and the Scottish troops due to its strategic location. Many of the bloody fights against the English took place close to Stirling Castle. Stirling Castle was also a favorite residence of the former Scottish kings.
Then you drive north-west and enter the southern-most part of the Scottish Highlands, an area of natural beauty, known as The Trossachs National Park. The legendary Bob Roy lived here more than 300 years ago and was later immortalized by the author, Sir Walter Scott.
During your stay here you can take a cruise on Loch Katrine – one of the many Lochs of Scotland. After this, you return to Edinburgh.
