Not far from Jicin lies the Sychrov Chateau – Zamek Sychrov. It’s baroque style and was built in the period from 1690 to 1693. After 1820, the castle came into possession of the French noble family, Rohan and in the 1900s the castle was rebuilt in Romantic Gothic style. The romantic castle is surrounded by a large park in English style with exotic trees and small buildings/pavilions. The castle has an exhibition of the Czech composer, Antonin Dvorak and the largest collection of French portraits in Europe.
