Vilnius Old Town

Vilnius is not the largest capital of the Baltics, but the city centre – and its attractions – are spread over the largest area. This, combined with a very large medieval city where buses are not allowed, means that you should normally expect a three-hour walk. This can be divided up with a stop for a coffee break along the way, but it cannot be shortened. Not unless you want to leave out important parts of the experience. However, you can separate one element and take it on a separate bus ride: Gediminas' Tower, which stands high above the old town on a hilltop, can be visited via a cogwheel railway, and is accessible by bus.
