You start your adventure in Cuba's capital city, Havana. It's a great place to kick off the trip and there's lots to be seen here. Your experiences in the city will be much more in depth than most travellers get to see, as you're here to learn Spanish and to dance (among others) the Salsa. The Spanish classes are Monday to Friday during the morning, and during the afternoons you have 1-hour private dance lessons. The rest of the time you're free to explore the wonderful city!
After a week, your Spanish and dance classes come to an end as you meet up with your new travel buddies that will join you on a group adventure across Cuba, so this day of city exploration is the perfect way to get to know each other. Since you've already been here for a while, why not introduce them to your favourite spots before you move on towards Vinales the next day?
The trip from Havana to Vinales is a highlight itself. You'll pass through beautiful landscapes filled with agricultural areas. Stop at one of the country's many tobacco plantations to see how the famous Cuban cigars are made. Vinales is in the Pinar del Rio province and one of the most stunning natural areas in Cuba. You can opt in for some hiking or biking in the beautiful surroundings, or you can simply just put your feet up and enjoy the view.
The following day is entirely up to you, but we can recommend that you join a day trip to Cayo Levisa, which is only accessible by boat. We're talking white sand beaches and great snorkeling conditions.
From Vinales you continue with the group to Playa Larga. Stop af the Bay of Pigs en route to get some (more) snorkeling. Playa Larga is a small village by the beach, and it's almost impossible not to fall in love with the idea of staying here forever. Spend the rest of the day just enjoying life!
From Playa Larga you continue to Trinidad, but you'll make a stop in the nice seaside town of Cienfuegos on the way. Here you'll get free time to explore the narrow side streets and check out the harborfront. How you want to spend your time here is up to you, but we encourage you and your travel mates to check out Cubas oldes botanical garden or explore the beautiful Palacio del Valle. You can also choose to take a stroll in the UNESCO World heritage site Parque Jose Martí.
Next up is Trinidad. You'll start out with a nice orientation walk to get to know the town's history. The afternoon is free time where you can do what you want, before it's time for you to learn some proper salsa moves in the evening. Not far from Trinidad you'll find Playa Ancon where you can opt in for some nice snorkeling adventures or simply just chill by the beach if that's more you!
After another full day of free time in Trinidad, you'll start day 7 with a visit to the Manaca Iznaga community, where a textile centre for women to sell their traditional textiles has been created with help from our partner's foundation. It's a nice project that supports the local community and we're sure you'll find inspiring. Continue towards Havana and stop in the historical town of Santa Clara on the way. Check out the historical Che monument, before you head back to where it all started in the capital of Cuba.
You're back where it all started. Enjoy your last day to explore all the parts you haven't done yet. Enjoy the bright colours and Caribbean vibes. If you want to show off your salsa skills, just follow the music, there's always a salsa dancing party to be found any time of the day!
Take some time to enjoy a cold drink on Plaza Vieja or stroll along the Malecón boulevard. There's so much to see and do in Havana and you will definitely not be bored! Whether you want to end your trip here and continue home or want to keep exploring is up to you. No matter how you want your trip, we'll help you out!
