Welcome to Nairobi, the bustling capital of Kenya! Start your adventure by exploring the city’s vibrant neighborhoods, sampling local street food, or visiting the city's national park. Don't miss the chance to dive into Kenyan culture at the Nairobi National Museum and the lively Maasai Market.
Next, it's off to the legendary Masai Mara, home to the Big Five and one of the best wildlife reserves in Africa. Get ready for thrilling game drives where you can spot lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, and buffaloes. If you’re visiting between July and October, witness the awe-inspiring Great Migration. Immerse yourself in Maasai culture by visiting a local village and learning about their traditions and way of life.
Cross the border into Uganda and head to its capital Kampala for a night. Explore the crowded markets, the historic Kasubi Tombs, or the Uganda Museum. Take a boat ride on Lake Victoria and enjoy the energetic nightlife in the city’s various clubs and bars. Try some typical Ugandan dishes like Rolex (a rolled chapati with eggs) and Luwombo (stewed dishes cooked in banana leaves).
Your second stop in Uganda is Lake Bunyonyi, and on the way here you’ll actually be crossing the equator. The lake itself is undoubtedly the loveliest lake in Uganda, and it is even crocodile and hippo free (so you can swim in its crystal-clear waters as much as you like). The reason we're here though, is that this area is one of only a handful of places where you can see mountain gorilla's! Included is a guided mountain gorilla trek in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (so insanely cool!).
PS. Since the gorillas are out in the wild, you’ll never know how long the hike is going to last and how long it will be until you find them - So make sure to bring comfortable shoes! When you reach the gorillas, you will have one hour only. So, you can take some pictures, but then put your camera down, and just sit and enjoy the moment. Being up in the mountains in Uganda, having a gorilla family in the wild in front of you, is a "once in a lifetime"-opportunity you don't want to experience only through a lens.
From Lake Bunyonyi you’re headed north to Kalinzu Forest Reserve which is part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here you’ll join an early morning trek to see the chimpanzees and visit a tea plantation before moving on to Lake Mburo, a haven for wildlife lovers. The park is home to zebras, giraffes, hippos, and various antelope species. Take a guided walking safari, a boat trip on Lake Mburo, or a night game drive to see the park’s nocturnal animals. T
After your unforgettable encounters with gorillas in the lush forests of Lake Bunyonyi and chimpanzees in the wilds of Lake Mburo National Park, journey to Jinja, Uganda's adventure capital. Nestled along the banks of the White Nile River, Jinja offers a thrilling array of outdoor activities. Explore on your own or in the group, that’s up to you! Try rafting, mountain biking or do something more chill like checking out the markets and maybe spotting some monkeys.
