Start your honeymoon adventure in San Jose before flying to Drake Bay on the southwest of the Pacific Coast. Here you'll enjoy two days of safari tours on the lookout for animals including tapirs, scarlet macaws and squirrel monkeys.

You'll also have encounters with marine animals with a snorkelling trip around Caño Island before flying to Punta Arenas. Here you'll spend a few nights in La Fortuna to enjoy all that Arenal Volcano and its surroundings have to offer, including waterfall hikes, white-water rafting and hot springs.

Next you'll transfer to Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean coast. This laidback coastal town offers stunning beaches and is close to two national parks. During your time here you'll go kayaking, hike through the jungle and visit a jaguar rescue centre. Plus there'll be time to relax on the beach before returning to San Jose for your flight home.

San Jose Arrival

Welcome to Costa Rica and the start of your honeymoon adventure!

Upon arrival at San Jose international airport you'll be met and transferred to your hotel. Spend a night at the 5* Barceló Hotel located in a peaceful neighbourhood outside of the centre. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

You can either visit the local museums, La Sabana City Park or simply relax by the hotel pool after your flight.

Drake Bay Wildlife Encounters

The following day you will be transferred back to the airport for your included flight to Drake Bay. This small bay on the north side of the Osa Peninsula is the best place from which to explore the incredible Corcovado National Park.

Check in to your comfortable hotel and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

You'll get to explore the wild and incredibly biodiverse Corcovado National Park on a 2-day small-group guided tour. Start early with a boat ride along the coast to the Sirena station. From there follow the jungle trails in search of wildlife such as tapir, squirrel monkeys, scarlet macaws, and if you're really lucky, jaguars!

Tonight you'll be sleeping in simple accommodation at the Sirena ranger hut to spend a night with the sounds of the jungle. Enjoy dinner and the starry sky above before retiring to bed early for another full day of wildlife encounters tomorrow.

It'll be another early start as you rise at dawn to search for animals that prefer the lower temperatures of the morning. Return to the hut for breakfast and continue to the primary forest of Corcovado to observe the towering trees.

Later you'll take the boat back to Drake Bay and enjoy an afternoon at leisure. Explore the beach, walk around town or sip on a Pina Colada looking out across the ocean.

Caño Island Snorkel Trip

The next day you'll enjoy wildlife encounters of a different variety with a snorkel tour around Caño Island off the coast of Drake Bay.

After a 45 minute boat ride to the island, suit up and dive in! Appreciate the rock formations and corals of the first snorkelling point before continuing to a second spot for a change of scenery. Finish on Playa San Josecito - considered to be one of the best beaches in the region.

Later return to Drake Bay for lunch at a local restaurant. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Arenal Volcanoes and Waterfalls

Leaving the untamed nature of Drake Bay behind, transfer to the airport for your included flight back to San Jose. On arrival you'll be met and transferred to La Fortuna - a small and unassuming town at the base of the towering Arenal Volcano.

Check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

The next day experience the best of Arenal on a 4-in-1 package combining a safari float, waterfall hike, volcano hike and hot springs. Start floating along the calm waters of the Penas Blancas River and looking out for tropical animals on the way. Then head to La Fortuna Waterfall with the chance for a refreshing dip before enjoying lunch with a local family.

Afterwards, take a walk through the Arenal Volcano National Park to learn more about the volcano's formation and the history of this park. The day ends with a relaxing dip in the naturally heated Baldi Hot Springs.

The following day, ramp up the adrenaline with a white-water rafting adventure on the Sarapiqui River. A scenic drive takes you to the river where you'll gear up and set off. At the halfway point, you'll stop to refresh with fresh tropical fruits on the riverbank, before hitting the rapids again.

Puerto Viejo Caribbean Vibes

Leaving Arenal behind, head southeast to the Caribbean coast and the colourful, laidback town of Puerto Viejo. Surrounded by lush rainforest and gorgeous beaches, it's the perfect place to relax. But with two national parks nearby, it's also a great place to take jungle walks to spot playful monkeys and other wildlife.

During your four nights here, you'll have plenty of time for relaxation, but for one last mini adventure, we've included a kayaking trip to Punta Uva. Paddle close to the coast and up river through the rainforest before getting back on dry land to hike to Grape Point for rewarding views. The trip also includes a visit to a jaguar rescue centre.

On the final day, you'll be transferred back to San Jose international airport for your return flight home.
