Flight route and itinerary

This round-the-world itinerary is only a route proposal for your big trip. If you would like to visit destinations other than those suggested or add in more stops, reach out to our team of travel experts who can help you put together your dream adventure.

Destination #1 Nairobi, Kenya

The first stop on your round-the-world adventure is Nairobi - the capital of Kenya. The city has enough of interest to keep you there for a day or two, but to really make the most of this stop, head out to some of Kenya's incredible national parks.

The Masai Mara offers excellent wildlife spotting opportunities, plus the chance to meet local Masai tribes and learn more about their way of life. You could also visit Lake Nakuru, famous for its resident flamingos that colour the landscape pink.

Destination #2 Johannesburg, South Africa

Your African adventure continues with Johannesburg the next stop on your itinerary. Here you can visit the Apartheid Museum and learn more about one of the most impactful chapters of South Africa's history. You can also visit the township of Soweto to see history in the flesh and how the shadow of apartheid still effects communities today.

But you can't visit South Africa without a safari adventure. And the Kruger National Park is the place to go. It's a 4-5hr drive from Jo'burg and you could spend a good few days here on game drives looking for the Big 5 and so much more.

Destination #3 Perth, Australia

After bidding Africa farewell, you land in Perth - the capital of Western Australia. It's a city that's often overlooked in favour of the glitzy cities on Australia's east coast. But with this round-the-world adventure, you get to visit both sides of the country. And in Perth you can enjoy the stunning Cottesloe Beach, explore the expansive King's Park or head out to the Swan Valley to sample Australia's famous wines.

To appease the 'gram, there's always the option of taking the short ferry ride to Rottnest Island for the chance to take a selfie with a quokka - an adorable small marsupial that seems to love being centre of attention in front of a camera!

Destination #4 Sydney, Australia

Once you've had your fill of Western Australia, continue east to Sydney. Here, you can't miss out on the iconic sights of the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. Enjoy the views from sea level with a boat cruise around the harbour. Or for something more adrenaline-pumping, consider climbing to the top of the harbour bridge.

Alternatively, head out further afield and into the Blue Mountains to explore the spectacular rock formations, ancient Aboriginal art and underground caves decorated with luminous glowworms. After spending time in and round the city, bid farewell to Australia and cross the Pacific Ocean to America.

Destination #5 Los Angeles, USA

The glitzy, glamorous city of Los Angeles could keep you entertained for weeks! Head to the hilltop landmark of Griffith Observatory for epic sunset views, eat your way around the Grand Central Market and enjoy the fairground games at Santa Monica Pier.

With its location on the Pacific Coast, there's plenty of beachside fun to be had in LA. You could learn to surf or simply relax on Venice Beach - the choice is yours.

Destination #6 New York, USA

New York, New York - there's no place quite like it. It really is the city that never sleeps, so allow yourself plenty of time to enjoy all that NYC has to offer throughout the day and night.

Tick off the essential tourist attractions, like Times Square and the Statue of Liberty. Get yourself tickets to a show on Broadway. Wolf down bagels, pastrami and burgers as you make your way around the city's many characterful neighbourhoods. And get lost in Central Park before your journey comes to an end.
