What are the eligibility requirements?
To be eligible for the KILROY Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a student at the time of their planned project abroad with KILROY and have at least one year left of their studies when they return
- Be over the age of 18 and a UK resident
- Plan to spend at least three weeks volunteering abroad with KILROY
When do applications close?
Applications must be submitted before Friday 28th November 2025.
What happens after I submit my application?
Applications will be reviewed by KILROY and successful applicants will be invited to an interview in December. During this interview we will discuss your suitability and motivation for joining the Impact Scholarship.
Unsuccessful applicants will be notified in December.
If you are awarded a £500 grant, you will be paired with a KILROY travel advisor to help you plan and book your development project abroad. We will assist with flights and can provide a quote on travel insurance to ensure that everything is taken care of. Travel must be completed by 30th September 2026.
What does it mean to be a 'KILROY Ambassador'?
As part of the Impact Scholarship, successful applicants will become a KILROY ambassador. Ambassador activities will include:
- producing social media content while travelling with KILROY
- providing written and/or video testimonials about your experience with KILROY
- representing KILROY at relevant events on campus and in store to help promote the Impact Scholarship to fellow students
